Archive for June 2008
Today at PCRI Mr. Ram Avatar of Microbiology Lab. came up with the idea of creating a wallpaper for cellphone using this leaflet.
I’ve used a Whattman’s filter paper as a background and got a decent shot using auto seetings in my camera
I was in Roorkee yesterday at Prateek’s place.
I purchased a “AA” & “AAA” battery charger and two Ni-MH batteries combination just for RS-300 from there.

Got this Red Bridge all-in-one memory card reader yesterday from Prayag Cyber Café at Ranipur More for 500 400 bucks (without any bargain).
Returned home and plugged my Nokia N-72’s MMC in it to transfer some images removed after doing so and my N-72’s memory card is dead.
My phone no longer accepts this card and so as my PC.
Shown it to Rahul at Prayag Cyber Café, Ranipur More. He says that my memory card is dead and I’ve to buy new one.
Yesterday my Canon Powershot A720IS arrived finally. It was expected to arrive on 13th as I ordered it on 10th of June from ebay.in but delayed because of heavy rainfall in Mumbai.
I got one 32MB SD memory card supplied by the manufacturer (which is of no use to me) and a 1GB Kingston SD mem. card supplied by the seller.
I’m unable to understand how to get better shots using Manual settings!!!
Boxed in!
This rain had ruined my whole day!
And I wish I know how to drive a car so that I can go out in city even if it is raining.
A dead Lizard.
Giant Lizard3, originally uploaded by Ankitvkc.
Yesterday just on our way to PCRI, Ritu spotted this fellow lying dead alongside the road.
This I think is an Indian Monitor lizard or a goh.
Fixing Tyre Puncture
Utilizing Sunday!
There was a small nail inside the tyre and a small puncture in the tube. I was dragging my bike with this puncture from last month by refilling air again and again after every 6-7th day.
First Day at Pollution Control Research Institute, BHEL.
I got my bike serviced today at 11:30AM after the last service of December.
Mechanic at Hero Honda Service Center told me that my bike’s piston kit is to be replaced as the bike is emitting lots of smoke. It’s going to cost me somewhere around 1800 bucks including labour charges. I was short of time this morning as I’d to report at BHEL main gate for the gate pass so I said him to do so later.
And finally we got possession of our gate passes.
Reported PCRI at 1:45PM!
We entered Microbiology lab of PCRI where they were performing a test for Total Coliforms and Fecal Coliforms for River Water sample from Uttarkashi.
They shown us Membrane Filteration Kit and its working.
I forgot the exact name of the medium they used for TC and FC .
They showed us a special kinda box/ machine (?) named Field Microbiology Kit which comprises of each & every equipment used in Microbiology tests of various samples on the spot. This Field Microbiology Kit arrived there today imported from Germany with a broken component. So no question of using it right now.
After that we went to Water Testing Lab where we done BOD analysis for the samples from Effluent Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant of Hero Honda’s SIDCUL facility.
Boring Schedule !
I thought that I’ll be regular on this blog once my exams gets over but I failed to do so.
Blame it on my laziness and that Vocational Training. From past one week I am wandering in Industrial Area and SIDCUL with my friend Ritu (She’s also interested in for the same) but not a single company is ready to take us as a trainee.
Now both of us somehow managed to join Pollution Control Research Institute, BHEL via HRDC.
Folks at HRDC told us to reach their office at 8 o’clock sharp in the morning for getting a gate pass but we reached there at 9:30 AM. By that time they already closed that department of making gate passes.
Damn how it could be possible- A government entity punctual in time!
Most funniest part is that they (at HRDC) had a objection about the way Ritu was dressed up….. he he !!
Anyway tomorrow we have to go there again to get our Gate Passes ready.
Hope we reach there at time. Wish us luck!
